Latest news about the Canadian GP you need to know before betting
Ahead of the Canadian GP, both Ferrari and Mercedes intend to introduce updates to increase their competitiveness. Mercedes are ahead in the Constructors’ Championship table, but a resurgence from other teams means they’ll have to adapt. Mercedes team boss, Toto Wolff, has said that a major update is coming in Canada. They hope this will allow their drivers to push the car to its limits and stay ahead of their rivals.
Meanwhile, team principal of Ferrari, Fred Vasseur has confirmed that more upgrades are coming for the Canadian GP. Ferrari have maintained pace in the Constructors’ Championship standings, currently just behind Mercedes. With the right car upgrades, they could get their first win of the season at the Canadian GP.
Miami GP race recap - which teams are performing well so far?
The Miami GP saw Antonelli take his 3rd win of the season ahead of his teammate George Russell, who missed out on a podium finish as he came 4th. Meanwhile, McLaren drivers Lando Norris and Oscar Piastri took 2nd and 3rd, while Max Verstappen finished in 5th place.
Antonelli held off a strong challenge from Lando Norris to extend his lead at the top of the Drivers Championship table, and secure his 3rd win in a row.
Despite a spin in the 1st lap, Max Verstappen recovered and showed that with further improvements to the car, he could still challenge for the title over the season.
Meanwhile, last season’s top performers Norris and Piastri looked much improved after some upgrades to the McLaren.

Our updated prediction for podium finishers at the Canadian GP
You can get our detailed F1 season picks and predictions on our blog throughout the season. Earlier in the year, we predicted that Hamilton could get his first win of the season here. He finished 5th at the Miami Grand Prix, and with the right car upgrades, he certainly has a chance. However, he’s an outsider according to the latest betting odds.
After his performance in the last 3 races, Antonelli is the betting favourite to win the Canadian GP. He probably has the best chance, but we think it could be another close battle with his teammate Russell, as well as the McLaren drivers, Piastri and Norris.
The weather could play a big factor in the results of the Canadian GP, with rain potentially forcing teams to change their strategy. Pay attention to the qualifying sessions and fastest lap time when making your picks. Starting from pole position significantly increases the probability of winning.
Our updated Canada GP podium prediction is:
Antonelli
Norris
Hamilton
